The thing for which Indian Army was waiting for last 31 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would give them as a pleasant gift. On November 9, PM Modi will give a big gift to Indian Army. To increase Arterial’s firepower, the Indian Army will be handed over the 3 M-777 Ultra-light Howitzer Cannon and the 3 Armored Gun k-9 Bell Armored Cannon which will make the army more powerful.
A grand ceremony to be held in Devlali, Nasik, Maharashtra is to be organized in which Defense Minister Nirmala Sitaraman and Army Chief General Bipin Rawat will also be present. These guns will be announced to be included in the Indian Army. More importantly, this is the first time in 31 years that this gun is going to join the Indian Army, after Bofors scandal.
What is K9 : Full Information
It is to inform that K-9 vajra has been developed by Hanwha Techwin, a South korean company under Make in India project and the L&T company will build this armored gun in India. By the year 2020, one hundred K-9 Thunder Artillery gun will join the Indian Army.
This project is being said to be worth Rs. 4500 Crore under which the army will get 10 ready-made guns, then 90 cannons will be built under the make in India. This cannon is capable of burning 3 shells in just 3 seconds. These guns have been prepared with CBRN technology to deal with nuclear warfare chemicals, and these armored guns have tremendous ability to run at speed of 60 kilometers per hour. The most special thing is that they can be run in desert areas too through which cannon can be used very effectively on the Rajasthan and Punjab border of India-Pakistan.
Know It’s Firepower
5 soldiers will be deployed to run the K-9 Vajra armored Cannon. It can easily destroy the enemy till exact 39 Km. The caliber of this cannon is 155 mm and everything will be destroyed by 50 meters till wherever its sphere falls. This cannon can show its power anytime whether it is day or night.
Howitzer: The second gift
M777 ultra light Hovitzer cannon which will increase the strength of Indian Army by joining by 2021. 5 thousand rupees have been spent for this project. In the Artillery regiment of the Indian Army, a total of 145 M-777 ultra light howitzer will be included, which is only 4.2 tonnes. Therefore, it can be used by easily deploying Chinook helicopter and transport aircraft from high attitude and other areas. The biggest reduction after the Kargil war was of the high altitude warfare. This gun of 155/39 mm has the stunning ability to fire 4 rounds in one minute, its ball is of 45 kg. it will take 9 people have to be deployed to run it.
